Experience Studio Centers for Artistic Behaviors.k-12

Interested in TAB (teaching artistic behavior) and student-directed artwork?  Already a pro at TAB?  All are welcome!  Experience studio centers used in a TAB classroom.  We will begin with a short introduction with information, photos from my own classroom set-up, and a demonstration.  Work time on your own studio center project will follow.  This time will also double as Q & A and sharing of ideas from experts to those interested in transitioning to TAB.

Ending "I Don't Know What to Do." Empowering Student Voice and Teaching Idea Generation

This is such a frustrating question when we want to get our students to think, express, and create art with meaning.  However, many of us have never been taught how to teach idea generation.  In this presentation, I will share results from my graduate research project on the topic, and strategies that I have used to get 7-12 students thinking, brainstorming, and making meaning for themselves.
