Youth Art Month Celebration
Shared with recognition of the Gold Key winners of the Scholastic Art and Writing Award competition (sponsored by the Belin-Blank Center)

Every March in Iowa, we celebrate the creative talent of the youth of our state. This year, Art Educators of Iowa will choose artworks to display at the State Historical Building in Des Moines throughout the month.
Fifteen of those artworks will spend a week in the office of Governor Chet Culver. Artists range from the kindergarten through senior high school.

One Overall Winner
One Elementary Category Winner
One Middle Category Winner
One High Category Winner
- The Overall winner wins a trip to New York along with one parent and the Art Educator.
Each category prize will be art supplies for the winning student and the Art Educator.
- Enter an Iowa Flag in the national YAM FLAG Competition

- Design-A-Pin for 2010 Youth Art Month
Designs are due October 2009. Designs can be drawn, painted, 3-D (photographed), photography, printed. It is wide open, use your creativity, imaginations, go wild.
No age limit. Can be submitted by teacher for the student or by the student.
Shape may be alternated to fit a square, rectangle or circle pin shape. Submit designs to Susan Noonan at susann@myfmtc.com in jpeg format.
Best design will be used for pins and theme of 2010 Youth Art Month.
