Art Educators of Iowa Scholarship Application

The Art Educators of Iowa offers two $1000 scholarships annually. One is available to students in an Art Education undergraduate or graduate program. The other is given to a professional in Art Education (teacher, museum educator, etc.) for professional development.

STUDENT CRITERIA

1. US citizen and an Iowa resident.

2. Student attends an Iowa college or university.

3. Scholarship money will be used for either senior year or graduate art education.

4. Student's GPA must be 3.0 or above.

5. Student is enrolled in an art education program.

6. Applicant must submit a one-page statement, which describes career plans and the need for financial assistance.

7. Recommendations from two teachers (at least one from an art education or education instructor) must be mailed with application.

8. Scholarship money will be sent directly to the institution attended.

9. Applications due May 31, 2004.

10. After receiving the scholarship proof of successful completion of semester or course in Art Education will be provided. Grade sheet, transcript, letter from the institution (on letterhead), etc. (will be sent to scholarship AEI upon completion of the semester or course)

AEI SCHOLARSHIP TEACHER CRITERIA

1. Applicant is an AEI member and is teaching/working in Iowa.

2. Applicant is enrolled in a graduate program, graduate course, or accepted into a special course of study in art education.

3. Two recommendations will be sent with application. These can discuss applicant's qualifications including teaching experience and commitment to art education. They cannot be from relatives.

4. Applicant must submit a one-page statement, which describes how the program they are taking will help them as art educators.

5. List of expected expenses.

6. Proof of completion; grade sheet, letter from program, etc. will be sent on completion of the work.

7. Money will be sent to applicant. amount will be up to $1,000.
