A Special Request

Over the past eleven years there have been over one hundred art students recognized by the All-State Art Awards program.   During the month of May 2008, they are going to be recognized again at the Iowa Hall of Pride.  Each student will be highlighted with five of his or her best works of art on a special Kiosk.  Another category that will be included is titled, “They Became Professionals”.  Under this category All-Staters who have become working professionals in the visual arts will be showcased.

This is where I need your help.  I would like for you to contact as many of your students as possible and ask them for the following.

·      A 250-300 word statement highlighting the essence of their profession

·      A picture of themselves (preferably at work but not absolutely necessary)

·      A picture of the type of work they do

It would be easier to have all of the above in a digital format but the company that I am working with can scan any image and re-type if necessary.

Later, the above information may be placed on our own Web site and used in the classroom.  My own students are already preparing their information and several teachers that I have reached through e-mail are contacting their students.  Again, this documentation should come from All-State Art Award Students only.   I would greatly appreciate your assistance.
