AEI invites you to take part in the Iowa All-State Art Awards competition.  It has been our honor to recognize Iowa’s best junior and senior visual art students over the past fourteen years. This is an event reserved for AEI members. (For information on membership, please email Pam Muench, the AEI Membership Chair: pmuench@marshalltown.k12.ia.us.) Or to join online, go to the AEI Membership Page. This year, the judges will select 12 students to become a part of the “Individual All-State Team.”

Starting this year, for schools that have at least five entries, there will be a team award based upon their top five individual portfolio scores. The top 3 schools will be recognized by AEI as an “All-State Art Program”. All honorees will be inducted at the All-State Art Award Program at Grand View College on Saturday, May 8, 2010.

As many of you know, nearly a decade and a half ago, Joel Franken and Dave Pratt conceived the idea of a state-wide art competition that became our All-State Art Awards. Dave has acted as the primary chairman for several years and has passed me the proverbial torch. I hope to uphold the same level of quality, professionalism, and attention to detail that you have come to expect from Joel, Dave, and AEI. What a great task and responsibility!
